In Scarville they inform Jim Park, as any figures of authority seem absent.
Young Mario Simpson is offered a safe job manning a radio post.

The pantsless Scarlett gets provided some direly needed supplies, including pants.

Lee Shore Salvage
Salvaging a vessel stranded at the lee shore.
  • Move to a position directly luff of the vessel
  • Confirm status and action with the central authority
  • Signal vessel via radio or visually
  • Consult water chart and depth sounder
  • Prepare to drop anchor
  • Carefully approach, mind the depth alarm
  • Propulsion to neutral
  • Drop anchor prior to critical depth
  • Slack anchor line, encroaching with propellor away from the shore to prevent a foul
  • Determine if the vessel is derelict, toss a line, or board the vessel if required
  • Never board a man (or reasonably manned) vessel without prior permission
  • Attach tugging line
  • Lighten the grounded vessels load, decreasing its draught
  • Slack tugging line, while winching anchor line; moving the salvage vessel away from its target and into deeper water
  • Winch tugging line, while in radio contact with the crew on board the grounded vessel; dragging the vessel adrift
  • Creating list further decreases draught
  • Verify the grounded vessel floats freely before engaging propulsion
International maritime law
  • A derelict vessel's ownership changes to the salvaging party upon salvaging the vessel.
  • Salvaging a manned ship entitles the salvager to 33% of the value of the vessel and its cargo.
Note: The Coast Guard performs search & rescue operations free of charge.

Still attempting to reach the JTF, it seems extremely difficult to get ahold of anyone there.
Violet has even given up asking about citizenship.

Image

Image

Finally after days of trying there is a response.

Image

Waiting and waiting patiently for a reply, eventually, about half an hour later she requests an update, only to be met with radio silence.

Image

Even though JTF may be inactive or indifferent, there is someone in Scarville that appreciates the coastguard.
Jim Park makes a large donation of medical supplies.

(Several screenshots of members at HQ were left out, will post as soon as we get a gate, so we don't have to worry about MG ambushes)

They may have installed the solar panel, but that won't be enough for continuous operation.

Scouting for car batteries or hopefully something better, they hit the jackpot.
