Sector 8 is a government agency that has been founded by the Department of Homeland Security that was tasked to do researches on the virus and produce medicines to combat it and its symptoms while also trying to provide assistance to the local survivors, build shelters to house them and try to locate the causes of this apocalypse and neutralize them.
The group was established as a branch within the Federal Bureau of Investigation but during the middle stages of the apocalypse, it was re-established as its own agency under the leadership of Director Leroy Martinez who was handed the responsibility to save the United States from the virus at all costs.
The agency has done a considerable amount of work in the past 5 years as they're were able to do some great progress for developing an antidote for the virus and they established a lot of shelters for the remaining survivors around the States but they success as they only managed to establish 3 housing shelterns in the Northern side of the United States.
A team of Sector 8 agents led by Special Agent in Charge William Robinson were sent to the state of San Andreas in a mission to try to establish a base in the Southern side of the state to continue the agency's researches against the virus and in hope to build a housing shelter for the remaining survivors around it.
The San Andreas team is still operating to this day although they're extremely limited on supplies.
