In 1990, a military unit was formed under the name The Black Cross. The military unit was consisted of well-trained soldiers and the unit was generally assigned to regular operations, such as the Operation Desert Shield that involved at least 700,000 U.S. troops. In 1991, the United States gained intel regarding infected USSR Agents aiming spreading a virus. The military unit was sent on a highly confidential mission to apprehend the USSR Agents and the operation was successful, however, they did not know it was too late and the virus has already spread around. After the United States Government disappeared due to the spread of a new mutated variation of the virus, the military unit was disbanded.
In 2021, a neutral faction was formed under the name The Black Cross, but under a completely different objective which was providing hope to everyone affected by the disaster and providing supplies (food, drinks, and basic equipment) to the people who were in need to give them a chance to survive.
In 2022, everything changed regarding the group except for the name, The Black Cross, due to the hostility regarding its members from the other factions and the harsh surviving conditions. They changed their objective to a new survival technique which aims to survive by asserting dominance over other groups and initiating armed robberies/attacks on the survivors. And they are often referred to as Bandits.
The Black Cross associates are usually known to be wearing casual clothes or a military outfit (for operations) with a shoulder patch that represents a Black Cross to make them easily identified by the survivors and to assert dominance over the groups that they could possibly have problems with.
