Shady Creeks

The woods of Back O' Beyond have always been the one of the very few territories that hold seclusion from the infected. Rarely do lurkers make it into the territory due to the low rate of prey humans within the woodlands. Many camps, mostly consisted of delinquent Chimera youth, have tried to settle into the creeks due to the abundancy of unpolluted freshwater from the river within it. The resources and the semi safe haven that Shady Creeks offer have paved way to some camps that have survived and order was established within the camps and each of them functioned and thrived much like how ancient tribal societies have. There were conflicts that took place within the camps despite a coalition that was formed in order to stabilize the settlements, but with the raging hormones of the youth and their tendency to commit rash decisions, this peace ultimately became a thing of the past. Among all the five Chimera camps that have laid claim to certain parts of the creek, one rose to the higher echelon to dominate and ultimately assimilate members from other camps into it's own.
Children of the Void is a camp of delinquent youth Chimeras that have came to dominate Shady Creeks via means of violence. Before the conflicts happened, the Children of the Void was always regarded as the black sheep of all five camps. It was not uncommon for a Child, as what the camp refers to themselves, to be regarded as the freaks and the unsettling. Their strange rituals, frequent use of sigils, promotion and practice of esoterica and their faith in multiple deities has always been the primary subject of jokes by other camps. However, to a Child, their belief system and their occultism is what drives them to continue living in a decrepit, post-apocalyptic world. Though their belief system is far from the criteria to be classified as a religion, a Child would willingly take another individual's life if they ever saw somebody as a threat to their faith.
Much like good for nothing youth punks in the old world, these teenagers are very much anti-establishment and carry a special type of hatred towards authority, in defiance of the fact that they themselves have a hierarchy. They're also inclined to seek attention much like teenagers from the old world, often relaying it via engaging in graffiti like what is seen on the image to the left. Most of their vandalisms are up front and oftentimes use graffiti as a way to signify marking of territory. However, they rarely commit to defending these areas and usually just end up rallying back to the woods.
These good for nothing punks have also caused havoc within civilian settlements through the means of mini robberies and extortion of goods. Since they are not well-equipped enough to take on micro cities such as Scarville or Ilyansk, they resort to preying after small outposts made by innocent survivors that seek nothing but to preserve their lives. However, the Children of the Void do not condone extreme violence and are very much defiant of conflicts. Like many settlements, camps and outposts created by civilians, the camp of the Children of the Void pretty much seeks the same objective as them, which is to survive and preserve their unsettling, strange belief system.
