Los Santos International Airport's backstory:
“LSX is now the fourth busiest airport in the world. The airport is made up of five gates that are connected by a U-shaped two-level main terminal.”
Located in the southernmost part of the city lies quite a small - compared to Easter Bay and Las Venturas - airport. Despite its smaller size it still thrived even days prior to the outbreak. Lead inside by the 425S Highway, the entire terminal of the International Airport sits underground, inside not being any space for parking made the whole terminal very busy with cars, taxis and buses moving constantly around the place. The airport has a decently large parking lot outside, though it is mostly reserved for staff. Founded in 1992 the Juank Air - being the dominant airline in the whole States - mainly provides air travel between the cities of Los Santos, San Fierro and Las Venturas, via the Los Santos International Airport, the Easter Bay Airport and the Las Venturas Airport, respectively. Though, less commonly, people travel Internationally all over the world with Juank Airline. Juank Air's fleet includes the AT-400 and the Nevada, as their main commercial aircraft.

The day of the outbreak and following several days really put the airport's staff to the test. When the whole world went berserk, the current staff of the LSX - which included security, firefighters and the police currently on duty at the time of the outbreak - all decided to barricade themselves in the safe underground terminal of the airport, but eventually even they fell to their knees being overran by zeds and bandit raids.

Rise of the Broken Butterfly Flight School. Image
After the fall of the fortified terminal and bombings around the state, people begun avoiding the city completely, now only living around the desolate farms of Red and Flint County, which made most forget about the existence of the airport, further making the place more secure, outside of reach of the bandits and with its entrances being sealed shut only having one real entrance, which created an abandoned fortress waiting to be rebuilt.
It didn't take long for people to show interest in the place. Many met scavenging the place, they encountered a group already working on rebuilding it. People seeking maintenance tools for their aircraft and desperate for aviation fuel visited the place in hopes of finding said almost-artifacts. Those hearing about the idea of the airport being rebuilt, quickly agreed to join. It didn't take long for the group to form. They took their knowledge of the aircraft to the newly founded BBFS. Together focusing on maintaining a base that'd serve as home for still working aircraft.

Despite its name - the Broken Butterfly Flight School - is not mainly a school, it's not even a school. The main focus of the old Los Santos International Airport, now known as the BBFS, is now aircraft maintenance and pilot safety. A regular, commercial flight school takes a year, excluding the necessary medical tests and other requirements to start. Pilots here are mainly the ones with pre-apocalypse experience, though the new, aspiring pilots are welcome and can seek schooling in not only flying, but engineering and maintenance. The group avoids confrontations and mainly focuses on helping those in need as well as making deliveries from and to the empty desert of Las Venturas and the abandoned airport on the northernmost part of the island.

(( A little OOC:
Why flight school? Who are we gonna school? The zombies? Of course the last paragraph debunks it, but I still preferred "Flight School" over "Base" or just simple "Airport". With that out of the way - the main focus will be planes as they are actually easier to operate and much safer to travel with than helicopters. Even though it might not seem like that in GTA, because it's just a game. Normally helicopters require so much more maintenance and are just a pain to fly and maintain, especially in an apocalypse. EITHER WAY! I plan on actually delivering the promise - the IC flight schooling will take place for faction members and outsiders if they wish.

Who can join? Anyone, basically. Ideally either characters with aircraft operating experience or (better) characters with zero experience seeking to learn more about it. It doesn't stop at just aircraft. Of course every base needs security and normal civilians. These are welcome to join in.
I will provide more information to those wishing to join. Contact either on forums or discord: Masta#1110 ))

Dragonfly, also known as Kyle or, by some, "Bird".

Kyle is the original member of the Broken Butterfly FS. No one really knows where he came from, as he wasn't from the city or the County. It is to be said he was on a mission seeking shelter in the San Andreas state after the base he belonged to fell after being overrun by zeds. Deeming himself as the greatest pilot, he decided to take matters into his own hands and begun recruiting members to the newly built BBFS. Together turning, once thriving, Los Santos International Airport into a home for aircraft and pilots, those who are still alive are highly valuable, not just for the Flight School, but also as the future for new pilots. Kyle's years of expertise as a professional pilot won't go to waste, as he's passing his knowledge onto new members, and those are teaching new, aspiring pilots the importance of aircraft safety and great flying.

His main job as the leader of the BBFS is recruitment of new members and establishing truce between existing organizations, that are still fighting for survival all around the desolate state of San Andreas. Diplomacy and negotiations being his strong side, because of his outgoing personality, confidence and being an extrovert he's able to bring people to his side with just words. Having narcissistic tendencies and being overly confident isn't all positive. His blind courage oftentimes got him into sticky situations, but fortunately he always made it out in one piece.

Butterfly. Other aliases are unknown.

Standing at around 5'2, the Chinese-American pilot proved herself as a worthy member and a teacher for the Broken Butterfly Flight School. Calling the, once successful, Airport after her name was an honor and she was sure not to waste it. Born in the city of Los Santos, though shortly moving to the small town of Blueberry, Butterfly was the generic "nobody", working was a bartendress in the Pißwasser bar up until the outbreak, when she was one of the not many lucky survivors to survive the initial outbreak. She managed to survive in the fields, growing tomatoes, breeding animals and fishing was sufficient enough for the first few weeks, then bandits started raiding, killing animals and even people. Butterfly was left with no choice, but to flee into the city where she set up a small base, though after the bombings, accessing the place became so much harder to the point, where just simple entering the city - even in an aircraft - becomes very resource demanding.

Butterfly's main job as a teacher in the Flight School is taking care of maintenance, staff surrounding it, and most importantly - schooling. The flight operating course mostly focuses on the practical lessons, though there's a week of theory for every student before they are even allowed to sit in the cockpit of a plane. Butterfly values safety the most, that's why communication is an important skill of every pilot. Medical basics, as well as emergency procedures are, by her, practiced on daily basis. There's no overlooking when it comes to operating and maintaining aircraft. They have to be in as good condition as they can before any takeoff.

Wasp, also known as Melvin, by some, "Ghost".

Melvin joined the US Marine Corps at the age of 18, he remained a Marine untill the apocalypse broke down. After the apocalypse, he managed to survive in the military base with other fellow Marines untill the hell happened. One day a big horde of zeds attacked the base and took out most of the soldiers, Melvin was one of the people who escaped the base. He decided to give Los Santos a try and liked it a little bit, since he knew Los Santos a little bit. He met Butterfly shortly after and wanted to learn operating an Aircraft from her. Not that he can't operate one, but he sucks at landing. Shortly after meeting Butterfly, he also met Dragonfly through Butterfly and joined Broken Butterfly FS. Melvin likes to move alone in the shadows, though he sticks to a team when he feels lonely.

Wasp's main job as a member of the Broken Butterfly Flight School, is defending the underground terminal at all cost. Training with guards and making sure the people of the School are safe inside is his highest priority. Being a more experienced ex-Marine he made a perfect candidate as the BBFS' military part. Since every, now existing, organization has to deal with constant bandit raids and swarms of infected, the ex-Marine going by "Wasp" introduced himself with his combat expertise. Quickly moved up high in the hierarchy, continuing the Marine legacy and not letting the soldier inside him die.
